The warning was a little premature (that can be customised AFAIK in the original. I drove through an intersection (with a known safety cam) and received a little "ding" noise, plus a message on the screen notifying me of the camera's presence.

Has anyone got any ideas? Is the Nuvi "camera.poi" file available- if the Cyclops (which I've been trying) isn't compatible and is the problem? I've tried contacting the person but haven't had any response.

This post suggests the person might have had success by keeping the file name original and not changing it to POI.gpi - but mine will not recognise any POI data to be loaded if I do that.Īnother post suggests that the Cyclops cameras aren't compatible and the person got hold of camera POI data from a Nuvi and that worked? I've found some info on another person experiencing the same problems, but can't find a clear answer to the solution they found. Once the cameras are loaded from the POI.gpi file, the head unit GPS software crashes at irregular intervals - possibly when safety camera locations are passed? So it restarts over and over (going through all the safety warnings and requiring button pushing to reactivate the GPS.) (If I leave it as the default safety_camera_australia.gpi the head unit doesn't recognise any POI to be loaded.) I've tried adding them by creating a folder (within the Garmin folder) called "POI" - this will load them onto the head unit-> but only if the file is named POI.gpi.

The file structure on the SD card is easy to find info on, so the maps are easy to update - but getting safety camera warnings to work is beyond me. Hi, I've been head butting a brick wall trying to get some sort of safety camera warning loaded onto my Kenwood head unit.
